Citizenship problems
by ravi prakash on Jan 15, 2007 02:43 PM   Permalink

The issue of seeking citizenship has a patriotic fervour although in day to day discourse a citizenship status may mean freedom from deportation under some obscure law in force. The resposibility of the citizen to bear arms in times of war or emergency exists unsaid.
People of Indian origin have enlisted for military service in Iraq, so this is not an issue at all.The question of dual citizenship moves away from the narrow confines of patriotism to one of maintaining ties with the land of birth or liking.
Is the US prepared for it?
