I am also unable to understand why not use PAN. And in fact FinMin had also apparently asked this to the concerned people in AMFI etc, ET reported an article also, only to be refuted by banks saying that MIN is still on.... in the meantime the confusion reigns...... I am sure MIN will also go the UIN , MAPIN way
