Isn't this ludicrous that western companies ask Indian government to liberalise labor laws so that they can hire and fire employees at their will?
West has double standards in everything. If it benefits them, it is good else it is bad. It is high time that pseudo intellectuals in India realise that and develop their own thought process rather than following West just blindly.

Only the US has random hire and fire... Europe has various degrees of protectionism against that, ranging from a moderate one in UK to hardcore socialism in france where you cant fire an employee after a year...
"It is high time that pseudo intellectuals in India realise that and develop their own thought process rather than following West just blindly" What is that even supposed to mean? Thought process? You mean we too should go protectionist? Been there, done that. 50 yrs leading into Manmohan Singh's watershed budget has been nothing but that. And look what it got us...
This is a trade union threatening a strike against large scale sacking. They do it everywhere. The govt of UK is not involved in this. Finally, everybody has double standards on everything. That includes us. Everybody is driven by their own self interest and there is nothing wrong with that.
