Painful
by Y Singh on Dec 31, 2007 03:04 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

It's very painful to see the dreams of Capt Gopinath getting shattered and along with him, the dreams of us, many of the middle class people. We share but in a capitalist system, this is the fate of any highly subsidized stuff - be in air lines or anything else. As the crude price is beyond India's control and if congestion charges are at the root of this, the policy of the government is to be accountable for not creating more air ports in time. Just for this, we customers are also paying extra for every flight but hats off to Capt. Gopinath, the brave soldier who tried despite the constraints.

Taxes were 221 few months back and now the taxes (as they claim while booking the ticket) are 2075. What the hell is going-on with the Airliners?

Even if Gopinath didnt sell the stake to KF, the taxes are still very high. Its absolutely ridiculous that the goverment is wearing bangles and folding hands and accepting what Airliners are doing.

Thats wat i meant by pointing-out in the brackets. Please check my first line. The tax is still 221 only. Remaining amount is not collected by the Government. Its collected by the Airliners (in various forms such as Congestion charges, Fuel charges, etc).
