Sterling Holidays
by SANJOY SETT on Apr 17, 2013 11:26 AM   Permalink

My elder bro is a member of Sterling Holidays since 2002, and we have since visited four locations till date.

While I have found the arrangements more or less acceptable, professionalism has been conspicuous by its absence. Your week is never assured - if you call up three months in advance, they say you are too early, if you call up about a month earlier, they say you are late and that rooms are not available. This way, we have ended up visiting several locations around the country where Sterling properties exist, but staying put at other private hotels.

Amongst the prominent locations we missed out staying at the Sterling properties are Goa and Munnar, and the staff at the Administrative Office misguided us in booking the Hill view location for us in Kodaikanal when Lake view property was within hand shaking distance of all amenities.

I would rate Sterling at 3 on a scale of 1 to 5, and my personal advice to all is that it is always better to book Hotels / Resorts on a la carte basis instead of blocking substantial funds in a time share product the benefits of which are uncertain to accrue over the agreed period of time.
