Question to Bob
by Yogesh Kalra on Dec 18, 2007 09:12 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

He is evidently a very proud Sikh, and justifiably so. He has achieved a stature that most people don't even dare to dream about! But if he feels there is no discrimination in Canada, why does he go by the name of Bob? Why not his Sikh name which will likely be different?

You should know that names (nick names) in Punjab are often very odd. In our village we have hitler (!!), stevan, Goldy, Sandy, Rony, Tony and so on.

Now if he is running with his name Bob, whats so bad in it. The only thing is he is not a Sikh but a punjabi as evident from his picture.

Indians always feel ashamed of their indian origin name in west and saying I feel proud to be an indian.

His real name will be something like balwinder or something in that tone.

Although congratualtions and best of luck for his future endeavours...a name can't affect that.
