Why no 3G in India?
by S.SUDHAKAR on Dec 12, 2007 01:55 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

I really don't know why Indian GSM mobile operators are lagging well behind other foreign operators.

Indian GSM mobile operators are not even capable of providing FULL FLEDGED EDGE service to all customers. In this condition, how will they provide 3G?.

In countries like Japan and Kuwait, operators have already launched 3G and EDGE many years back.

This itself shows how India is lagging behind mobile technology. If broadband is in India will you say that it is developed in terms of technology?. It is like saying "A boy has grown to an adult only on seeing his hand only growing big" which is senseless.

we pay peanuts claiming they have a huge subscriber base. but the equipments are still in dollars from the international market... we want every thing below $10(max). pay 50% what the guys in kuwait and japan pay then get the service they enjoy.
