One need not be a BJP man to point out the reality. Kolkatta was a wonderful city and in 1950s Kolkatta was having 20% of India's industries. last 30 years the city is reduced to a non entity thanks to 30 years of CPM rule. If you have unlimited money and property and want to enjoy and while away time and have a govt job, Kolkatta is the place. For millions of Bengalis who are not blessed with wealth and property and want to work hard, Kolkatta is a place not to be.

PS - After 2011, Kolkatta will become a better place. CPM will be shown the door soon.

That was when Kolkatta had work culture and ruled by governments that were not communist.

Since 1970s, Kolkatta has been on decay and that is 100% due to the wonderful rule of CPM.

mgr fan talks like a real MgR fan!!
he should visit bengal and get the pulse of the real transformation unleashed by jyoti basu and buddhadev.stable cpim rule has ushered in a deep sense of security amongst the entrepreneurs.everyday crores and crores of investments are flowing in within bengal.
nandigram has to do with panchayat elections and nothing more.
cpim rule and progress is there to stay in bengal.

i am an apolitical person. cpim contributed lot in desindustrializing the state. current cm is however, very pragmatic and has been voted no.1 industry friendly by industry association! instead, if anybody wants to pass on the rein to mamata who vows to demolish tata motors factory, it reveals his hidden agenda against bengal. actually people like MGR fan who wants 100% SC ST reservation are people who do not want industrial progress in bengal.
