Historically recession cycle of USA economies is about 12-15 years in between there are only very short term slowdown. Last time we have seen major recession in 2001-2002. Its seems HDFC is not listening to this person view thats why he is posting it on rediff.

Dear friend, the question is whether its going to affect Indian ecomnomy. I work in a MNC and in last week we had a presentation from our Businees Head in US. As per presenatiom, evem with rate cuts by FED bank and other measures, US economy will be gloomy till 2009. and if worst happens, then God only knows, how long that will continue.
So we must be ready for worst. Our major business is US centric. Almost 80% of IT companies survives because of US. If Nasdaq falls our sensex too falls. At this point of time, we can't delink from US.
The people who talk about infrastructure development / job growth in India, must understand that this all depends on US. The money generated by Indian companies by exporting service to US have triggered growth in India.
