I am from Chennai.Though I am no supporter of Ramdoss & co, I have certain points to put forward regarding Reliance
I have been shopping at Reliance Fresh for past few months. I should accept the rate was fair & products were good initially. Apart from fruits & vegetables, they were selling other items like Atta, Rice, Dal etc below MRP. For example, MRP of Moong Dal was given as Rs 65 & they were selling for around Rs 45. Initially, I was excited. But, later on I found that the actual price for a quality Moong Dal was only Rs 45. So, they are just hiking the price & show it low in the bill. If you buy other items like Complan, Horlicks etc, the price is same as MRP. On the other hand, if you buy the same items from small sized %u201CANNACHI%u201D shops (Shops usually run by Nadars who sell it on a low margin), you will get the same product for lower price.
Another thing that I noticed is that the %u201CToday%u2019s Offer%u201D from Reliance. They sell fruit juices like Tropicana, Real etc about Rs 10 to Rs 15 less than the MRP. But, customers should be careful. They are actually old stocks & the product might expire in few days.
Once they gave an offer of buy one sliced carrot packet and get one free. I bought it and found that both packets contained sliced %u201Crotten%u201D carrot.
I decided to go back to usual local ANNACHI Shops and famous vegetable markets in Koyembedu, TNagar, Perambur etc as I get fresh products in cheap rate.

Let the public decide what is good for them. Instead of threatening people, these politicians must make life easier for rural folk without middle men eating most of the value. I have used places such as "Uzhavar Sandhai" (Farmers Market in Tamilnadu) - it is possible to get fresh vegetables about 20% cheaper than normal retail shops. The point is that if the mechanisms are made available to rural farmers they will be able to sell it at a value that benefits both consumers and themselves instead of the middle men making money. Reliance and Bharti Walmart are replacing the old middlemen goondas and will twist these villagers to sell them at cheap prices and sell at vey high prices to urban/semi-urban folks.
Let the market decide who has to survive and who has to perish!

This is exactly what the point is. If the prodcuts and service are really good thne people will definetly buy from Reliance or if they are not satisfied they will not. Lets leave the choice to the people. Ramadoss has no business in deciding whats good or not for people of this country.

Hello chatur... The idea of opposing reliance is right only..
If People starts buying from Reliance Fresh... they alone get profit... so Rich get richer... It will affect many local vendors whose entire life is with those vegetable markets....
So i would go against reliance..This does not mean that am supporting Ramadaoss..
