Discrimination
by mahesh on Aug 04, 2007 06:59 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Back in 2004 I have approached the NSRCEL in IIM Bangalore to incubate my venture. The NSRCEL was managed by a CIO who is scrutanized for pocessing the applications. Eventually soemwhere in Dec there was event to showcase the BP and selected my plan get the funding.

It was a mega event with the industry's leading participants along with NASSCOM president. The morning session was dedicated for the speech and discussions etc while the afternoon was scheduled for Business Plan presntation.

After the morning seesion I have approached the COO to allow me the slot for the presntaion. His comment was "You are being invited to just to see those eminent speakers and participants, You don't have the right for the presnetation". When I argued my part with the right to presnt my plan he shouted at me as: "You still have to reach to a level to show before the eminent panel list". At last as a last resort I have told him that I would like to talk to Mr. N.S. Raghavan who was 5 meters way from us he just come and blocked the way and ordered me that: "I am the authority here; Either you don't present or get lost from here".

We talk about the racial discrimination and the other forms of sezing around te world on our coutrymen. But what you call these kind of discrimination?

Dear Easy Desi,

The fundemental problem of some of our countrymen is very much reflected from the answer you have posted. Instead of being introspective on the content, people want to comment/ judge on the presntation or what appears them most.

I would like to add more content to my posting. I have strted the software shop in 2006 Apil and approached a nationalized bank under CGTSI scheme for Four lakh ( 1 term loan 3 overdraft). The manager has given the assurance and assured the sanction of the loan after geting the green signal from Regional office.

As per his advice I hav opened the Current Account in July 2006 and start operating the account. In the last 13 months I have visited the Managers(s) 60-70 ( three managers transferred) times; nonetheless, my application is still lying on their desk.

As far as the VC's are concenrned they not only support seed stage comanies but provides funding to the growth stage comanies. One insider told me that they are here to provide the proximity ( People don't have to travel to US).

I am still running my company with customers payment and through the finacing from Private financiers and the borrowing from friends.

Recenly in NDTV profit Business leadership award
ceremony Finance Minister has assured to the top class Business leaders that he would assit all therir requirement wheteher it is accessing capital, reach differnet market or the policy changes. Can the waanna be enterpresneurs can accept the same kind of assuran
