The public does not know much about the Sahara group as most of the businesses do not publish their accounts. In a few cases they do publish their accounts, their performance is quite poor. For instance, the Sahara mutual fund ranks 29th out of 32 mutual funds as per the AMFI website showing data of 31-03-07. The individual funds of Sahara mutual fund are generally close to the bottom in performance. This may not be typical, but one seriously wonders whether the group is really running profitably.

Hi, You are right . all this guys in India Inc looks to be cheats of the first order .putting money in public sector banks and earning interest is the most sane and briliant options since there is hardly any accountability in MF or in any other areas.I have found this bitter truth from experiance.

Don't be so pessimistic. There are enough people who have made and are making money from shares and mutual funds. As in any other business, one learns from experience.
