this in not profession. infact unprofession
by mihir on Apr 13, 2007 04:11 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

have you ever heard someone become a CEO for a year and than leaving that place. 1 year goes away in understanding your responsibility and within 1 year have Nandan achieved everything?

What I feel is

1. Nandan was not able to manage CEO job
2. or he has been kicked by power hungry

Infosys might be profession. but Indians are still unprofessional

poor soul .. you dont even know ... Nandan Was CEO for 5 years and not for only 1 year... Nanadan Became CEO in Apr 2002 when Gr8 NRN stepped down from CEO post and Infosys board of Directors declared him as Chief Mentor.

NRN retaining the Chairman position Nandan's (creating and taking) the co-chairman's position (while not in day-today business affairs) only shows their retaining the voting power and authority accordingly to their shareholdings in the company (may be as provided in the Articles of Association of the Company. The moment, the business has a set-back, they will download their equity and automatically their positions would cease to exist.

absolutely no problem...where did I say a problem with the Board...i was saying that their are paving way for other to come up in the ladder for them to exit from the company ensuring that the management is in safe hands...not as per the release which says that Nilekani was elevated to co-chairman at a young age and crap..

Mihir, have you ever heard of the statement "Ignorance is better than half-knowledge". You seem to have just half-knowledge and want to become an expert. Who told you that Nilekani was CEO for just 1 year? He has been CEO & MD for nearly 5 years now... that was the time when NRN started leaving the reins of the company and becoming a global ambassador for Infosys!

And if you think Nilekani wasn't doing his job, just look at the sheer number of people who have joined Infosys in the last 5 years. I joined Infosys in 2000 and my employee number was in the 9000's and now, the employee number is close to 80,000! Just imagine! 70,000 direct jobs have been generated and remember, each one of these 70,000 people were paid an average of atleast $30K p.m. So, how do you think he was not able to manage CEO job? Just do some research before typing out anonymously!

Cheers,
Shantan

Sir,

Your comments are most idiotic and more unprofessional than what you are commenting on. change is the only constant. What you should watch out for is how Infy manages the change and goes to even greater heights.

sir...but one thing we should not ignore..infy is a software developer and not a service provider.. the more orders they get, they need space and headcount....for the years to come, if china and other regions picks-up IT software development at cheaper rates, there is a chance that the overseas orders might get shifted to them..at that time, the lands acquired/properties built only will help infy to realise the money..but, what would happen to its thousands of employees, if they happen to shrink...

Please read the results carefully ta

Infosys is not mere a Development company, it's majorly Services company. Development revenues are only 21%, & rest comes from services.

thank you meet..i did read the results...my understanding is that they provide service only on the software/products developed by them....not such as an internet service provider/ISP, mobile, banking, etc. when these type of softwares/products gets produced by someone else at lower costs, automatically the service business would also take a dip...softwares do get enhanced and updated everytime....

You have the point. So, what should Infosys do now? Move out of the Services?
