Congratulations to all the infy management and staff members! You are doing India proud. I suggest you will also do well convincing your foreigner colleagues and your mentor that it is a good idea singing the national anthem while they are in India. Be a roman while in roman. Similarly, be an Indian while in India.

Yep, having an instrumental version of the National Anthem in the place of the vocal one is the most important problem facing the country...

Doctor, it is a sentimental issue for an emotion ridden country. Even in Olympics and certain world level sports, national anthems of the countries represented by playing teams are played before the start of the game. More than the instrumental version, what drew flak was the explanation of NRN that foreigners would be embarrassed if it was sung.

I thnk both of u (the doc and Mr.Lag) make sense... He need not have provided that explanation! In any case, I respect the gentleman for what he has provided the country with (of course for his own monetary interests, but the fact is the country is better off with him than witout him)...
