travel insurance
by sakthi on Sep 06, 2006 11:56 AM   Permalink

i came to spain for the conference and i got a travel insurance from the indian company which includes medical insurance. what they claimed is that ¨ if one has lost the money to the pick-pocketer then one can claim for the financial emergency¨ .

actually it happend that i lost money in this way. i went to police to file the case and they gave me FIR in spanish. I asked for the translation. they told that it is not possible for them. then i aksed for the ``financial emergency¨ claim from the insurar. they asked me the documents which included FIR. But when i sent them the documents with all the details of incidence in english they asked me to get an english translation from the police. I explained them the difficulty of getting it. then they told that they can ask some one to translate for some money like it was around 30 euros and they will detuct it from my claim amount. for this claim i had to spend few days here and lot of money for internet. in the mean time i have to go to india. ...

I am just asking the reader that is it not the job of the insurance company to take care of the translation work?
