I dont think he wants to convey anything (though that "how we protect mortals from the bigger picture" is a bit arrogant ;) ). Everyman in his job is always privy to certain information and this is no different. However I do appreciate the fact that he has brought out the fact that hosting public utility services like email can have its own drawbacks. Then again, if someone makes an allegation "why is rediff hosting this service if it isnt making money blah blah" will rediff actually say they are doing it for the greater good of all mankind? Or will they be bold enough and show us how they are being funded? I mean the cops are right too, it could be a genuine law and order case as the cops see it and they will be suspicious of someone like rediff.
