With due respects to Mr. Murthy, I donot agree with his comments that manufacturing is a job of uneducated persons. With developments in technology (No, I donot mean your narrow understanding or technology) manufactuing is no more a mere routine repetitive job.
Workers are knowledgeble in areas such as statistical techniques, using complex inspection methodologies and manufacturing systems.
It is high time the software industry understands the world outside its parks.

Ramanan you are right to some degree. It is quite correct that the software industry should understand the world outside its park.
But what Narayan Murthy was trying to convey, I feel, is that Manufacturing Industry is able to cater to a wide variety of human resource, Educated and Uneducated both, while the software industry has its limitations with respect to this fact.
