privatisation of airports
by ipsa on Feb 01, 2006 01:20 AM   Permalink

I do support the cause of providing more, better and faster services at the airports (delhi n mumbai). There is an urgent need of upgradation of facilities at the airports. But what we do not realise is by such kind of privatisation taking place the amount of political favourtism and under the table is always on the high.Just think why every political party which is in power is in support of privatisation. Its only bcoz of the underhand dealings and the benefits that the political leaders gain from it.The maintainence and mordenisation of airports can be done by the Airport authority India.Government work always remains entangled in red tapeism, but still if given proper incentives and at the same time employees be also given proper thrashings, threatened of losing their jobs (if dont do the work before deadlines or if some kind of customer complaint is recieved) then probably the work would be much easier.whenever a sword keeps hanging on their heads they are bound to give in their best...... I think instaed of passing on the mantle to private bidders I think the reforms shud be done at the government level itself.
