Cola Ban
by gopkumar on Aug 14, 2006 08:50 PM   Permalink

Everyone is talking about the cola ban. States are banning the drinks on "health grounds". But they are not talking about tobacco products which cause more harm! What a contrast! Cigarettes or beedis are MUCH MORE dangerous than the little bit of pesticides in colas. I am not pro or anti cola and don't have any leniency towards the drinks. But I am concerned with the side effects of tobacco smoking/chewing. Let me also say that most of the fruits or vegetables we buy from the market have VERY high levels of pesticides in or on them. Take the case of grapes. The grey powder kind of coating on black grapes is mostly copper sulphate which can cause diarrhea and other complications! Who cares for these?
