am suprised that even Mr Murthy still views a duaghter getting married and "going away". Unless people like him change their mindsat about daughters we can cry ourselves hoarse, in vain, about womens empowerment

Stupid and out-classed statement!!!Person like Mr. Murhty who has given opportunity to deserved (without gender differences and quotas). Why don't you apeak at people who don't allow woman to show thier face to others. You can better join womans right comission and try to get some money from government.

Dear Lady, no matter how Murthy puts it, a daughter will go away, fact is that. Would you not remain with your husband when you marry? This in itself is a question you ought to ask. Even in the west, they do not have this concept of going away, but fact remains they do go away, it is another matter than sons' too go away there, In India son's do not go away, usually! So that statement. May I ask who has your parents at this point, if you are already married? Do not divert or take away attention by asking such mundane questions, though it is politically correct to wave the women-flag, he (Murthy) is not a woman basher, look at his wife and you will understand, if you know what I mean ;-)
