Well Said
by Aditya on Apr 27, 2006 02:24 AM   Permalink

Well said Sir. I believe all educated Indians honestly support your ideas. It's a shame on leaders like Arjun Singh and parties like Congress who have been using reservations for their vote bank politics.

One much worse situation is when a person belonging to a backward caste changes his religion from Hinduism to Chrisitianity, he still keeps his reservation quota. It does not make sense since there is no caste system in Christianity, and all reservations are purely based on caste.

I personally know a lot of my classmates (belonging to the so called backward communities) during my undergrad who used their government scholarships for luxuries like cell phones. They were in a better position, financially, than myself. One much worse example is that we used to have separate quota of books (supplied by the Govt.) in the library. None of the OC guys were allowed to borrow them. Even none of those guys belonging to the backward communities used to make use of those books, because most of them open their books one day before the exams.
