As i understand the principle of reservations is "ALL THINGS BEING EQUAL (repeat) EQUAL, PRIORITY TO THE BACKWARD CLASS"When an OBC can get in with 40% marks and the so called upper class fail to get in with 90% how does it constitute 'being equal'?Are we going to have different passing marks for the OBC in exams in the IIMs too.10% for the OBC and 40% for the rest?GOD save equality.

This message is pathetic. Instead of looking forward, it looks back. The principle is eye for eye, hand for hand, etc.

Could there be a better policy than reservation?

But there has to be a time limit for it, as for anthing else. This was recognised even by the Constituent Assembly. Howver, to gain political and create a vote bank, our greatest politicians used the policy of DIVIDE & RULE of the Britishers.

Just imagine reservation by religion, caste and creed without improving the lot of 70% of the population.

A stage will come when the Forward castes will have to seek reservations and the Backwards will suffer the same fate as the forwards are now suffering.

Can this divide not be arrested? First improve the lot on the basis of gainful employment so that the family can form an educational base. For this, first improve the education and the general awareness and importance of education at primary levels.

Let us lose some vote banks by making education as criterion for voting instead of praising the un-educated and backward as a matured democracy, capable to elect educated.

LET MATURITY OF THE POLITICIAN be the first step to reservation.

Only the person who have suffered will know how it feels. If you think that current reservations where true talent is taken a back seat is a just, then I want to say that "People in India have tasted the blood" they will NEVER ever let go the reservations for EVER. God save the country and God save the country from those who support it. I want to ask you one question: "If you have to get operated, do you want your doctor to be Highly qualified or from a Backward class community?"
