I definitely believe in the ideas of social emancipation of the weaker sections of the society. We are definitely all born equal. It might be our circumstances after our birth, including being born in a economically poor family, that doesnt let us all be presented with the same opportunities as others. I believe the correct way to bridge this gap is for governement to work at provoding better opportunities to the economically poor in the society early in life by investing more in elementary and high school education. Have enough scholarships to support children from underprivileged sections to go to elite schools and then earn their way into elite higher education institutes. Admitting that I do not know the entire economics of it, but I believe if the governement can afford 1 reservation in an IIT, it can definitely support 10 students with scholarships to the best elementary schools. These 10 students will be much more competitve, capable and beneficail to the economy rather than one guy who gets to an IIT or IIM without earning it at all. Wrongs of history can not be undone by doing wrongs to some other section of society. We will be just repeating history.
