Warren Buffet who doesn't believe in the efficient market hypothesis (EMH) gave up reading charts almost 50 years ago and started focusing exclusively on fundamental analysis. Purists like William Sharpe, Harry Markowitz, Paul Samuelson, have all denounced Technical Analysis as a waste of time.
Technical Analysis may work for traders and short term investors but not for those who are in the game for the long haul.
