Labour Union in IT/ITES
by Carthic on Nov 01, 2005 09:11 AM   Permalink

I believe that IT/ITES sector people have learnt the global lessons and are collectively voicing against the unionism in these fields. Some leftist says that "Australian IT/ITES employees form unions, then why not Indians?" The answer is that the unionism in such countries have forced the employers to move work outside due to wage pressures. I think wages must be supply-demand dependent and must not have any mandated minimum levels. Also, the fear of global managers towards Indian unionism will only work against India and IT/ITES workers will eventually suffer due to lost businesses(if unionism comes in) rather than benefitting.
IT/ITES employees are working hard, but they are equally pampered by the employers added with handsome salaries.
