Re: Anachronistic

The very notion of having to pay per MB of download is anachronisitc. In this era of broadband, customers should be given the freedom to download as much as they want. How about a flat charge per month for unlimited usage as my ISP does? MTNL is popular, but I feel it has just axed its own foot by this ridiculous pricing per MB of download. Each site is so graphics heavy that the MB's pile up in no time. Tata indicom too isn't any better.

Yes definitely. And, this charging-per-MB is something that is not seen outside India. I don't understand how Indian providers came up with this idea. Definitely, unlimited internet access is the order of the day in the world today. For e.g., in the US, with cable internet connection, I am online 24hrs a day downloading lots of movies and music, and the first-yr special price is just $30. The speeds are fantastic (averaging 500kbps). I don't see any such packages advertised in the so-called "broadband" offers in India now.
