Rajiv had a vision. Unfortunately he was guided and advised by wrong people. He didn't have the experience in politics. He was panic and clueless. People around deceived him. Sadly he had to pay for all these with his horrifying death. Oh God' he doesn't deserve this. I remember while he was the opposition leader, in one of his interview with a scribe he spoke like this,'dear people of India I understood my mistake from the experience. Please give me a chance. I will prove. This sentence was totally from his heart. But no chance. That's a tragic history. I feal from my heart India would have become the present stage it is long before had he been the Prime Minister. We lost a budding leader. Jai Hind.

No doubt he was clean when he came in but could not remain so. Not his fault - It is the Indian political system. Again his being clean, just like Sonia's is that they started at the top. They did not have to struggle from the bottom/grass-root to reach that level. Having such advantage, he squandered it. If he repented or not is just a moot hypothetical point now
