India was not in technology apartheid since 1974 and even before 1974 it has not received any technology from USA either. All came from the Soviet Union, without it India could not have industrial development, oil refinery, oil fields, space research, missile development, nuclear weapons and power development and aircraft industries. The author does not want to recognize that because in that case he will not get any Bungalow in New Delhi.
What has India gained by giving up Five Years Plan: now 80 percent of the population in India live with less than $2 a day, the world definition of poor.
What has India gained by Sakti Tests, when Indian missiles are not fitted with any nuclear weapons. India already gave up its nuclear weapons by the India-US Nuclear Treaty it has signed.
Indian Missiles all came from Russia, but that source will dry up very soon, when India has joined the US camp. Thus, Indian space and missile research would end very soon.
This are the kind of authors Indian media is promoting: all slaves and without any brain. Has he got a Harvard MBa just like George Bush or Ramsfeld or Armitage or Chaney

Pessimissim never served anybody. u sure appear to be inclined towards communism as an idealogy. Everyone has a right to his own idealogy , but blind faith is self destructive. As a nation we are just 60 years old, though our heritage goes back a long time. What we have achived in 60 years is indeed commendable when u compare it whith what the US was going through in 1836 ( 1776 60 yrs) or for that matter any of these so called developed and technologically advanced nations of today. so wake up buddy , cut the cynicism and love ur country for what it is.

Mr.Dipak, Do you know how India has paid back our only ally USSR (Now Russia)?. At The time of USSR disintegration from 1USD=1 rouble rate, Rouble has collapsed 1usd=600 to 700 roubles. Rupee was stronger. India had the option to pay the entire loan with either us$ or Rouble but out of sheer goodwill They stood by us thru all the wars and were the only friends-counted, India agreed to pay by old rupee equivelant of Roubles and saved a friend when there was such a financial crisis. Credit for This humane gestrue goes to Chandrasekar/ Narasimharao Govts. By not working with USA now is really counter productive and will isolate us further in nuclear and other strategic areas Thanks Nat Murali
