I have had three appraisals in the past three years and I have made up my mind on the following aspects :
1. Work sincerly and have the worst and the best estimates of your increment. 2. Do not expect much from the Management.....but put forth your arguments strongly with valid points and data 3. If the management accepts then you will be happy...if it does not accept also do not worry as you have not had much expectations 4. Keep a watch outside the company about your market value 5. Do not take hasty decisions...think thrice before leaving your present job....don't think about salary alone..think about your future career and the chances available within your company
6. If you are getting a good offer outside, then switch immediately (but after consulting the same with your boss or super boss)
7. Having taken a decision, do not turn back and concentrate FOR the JOB ON HAND.
