Dear SV,
You have been quick to brand Pramod an idiot without looking at facts yourself. Here is the real reason for increase in IIM fees - and you can form your opinion whether Arjun Singh is responsible or not.
Fee for MBA has always been a fraction of actual cost incurred by Institute. The programme is subsidized by surplus Institute generates essentially through executive education and consulting. The extent of subsidy would become quite large on implementation of the sixth pay commission%u2019s recommendations. The Board of Governors of IIMA therefore decided that the fee needed to be raised so as to reduce the subsidy and to use the surplus from other activities for the much needed expansion of infrastructure %u2013 classrooms, seminar rooms, dormitories, etc. to deal with the large expansion of MBA programme of the Institute due to reservation to OBCs. (33% increase in seats)Institute has built a new campus over the last few years from its own funds. The Institute has received no grants from the government over the last several years. As a responsible and established institution, IIMA targets remaining financially independent of government support so that the funds available with the government can be used for more needy institutions and programmes.

Dear Mr Ram lal Verma
what happenned in old ages has already happened...u can go on beating the drum of old ages in todays world where everybody has equal rights. All the ppl belonging to so called deprived sections of society are now getting education and are placed at high positions...so there should not be any fuss about being down trodden n all that.....Also if a person belonging to reservation category is able to complete graduation, then he cant b considered ad backward....so there shud b no quota at all at masters level...and now that there is quota...the quality of IIMs should not b compromised ..for which fee hike is a neccessity
