an instant thought
by Sridhar Anantharaman on Mar 05, 2008 01:01 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

How i wish media (both print and air) spare such thoughts to men's perspective of such things!!! why the hell is man getting ignored in all these spaces?
do such authors suggest that it is the women alone who face challenges and its a bed of roses with laid out wine, for men?
its absurd, is all i can react to such articles...

There's nothing new in this... whatever men were going thru as bachelor now these women and girls are going thru. Men discover working principles and women want to enjoy them by kicking men's butts. Time after time, age after age, it is men who are facing hardships inorder to find both ends meet.

the final say is as long as men are single there'll be less comments, but in the case of a girl or woman being single....

Hi, I agree with some of you that the discussion can be on singles of BOTH sexes. I think anybody living alone away from their families faces problems... of various kinds. However, the most important issue is parental and family support. If a single person does not have that, then it is HELL living alone - I know, I am a single woman living alone since a few years, my parents live in the same city, and NO I do not have their support - so it is more difficult to deal with the situation.
My humble request to families, please learn to support a person's desire to live and work alone, to be independent. There is nothting wrong with wanting to make a life of your own, so please respect a person's desire to do so!

To all those single men and women living alone, be strong and never forget your values - therein lies your strength!

'just to ahev fun not done mam"
u simply dont seem to get that sticking with parents after growing up is very unhealthy for both parties involved. It is each person's duty to himself to explore and make a life of himself independently...fun or no fun

well, spoken like a true man! You think living alone is only about having FUN? Well, I live alone away from my parents living in the same city for a simple reason - to escape the abuse that I faced from my family and to live my life with dignity and self-respect! Of course, I guess now your comments will be "why would parents abuse their own daughters"? Well boys, come out into the real world, and you will find lots of cases of parental and family abuse towards sons and daughters!

the problem is that some people want more than 'safety" and grow up into adults. They don't want to be their parents' kids anymore and find thier identity and individuality.

yah surely!
It's a great idea to know about single men's lives...
I mean how many problem they face like eating out at restaurents or hotels whenever they want to
or catcing local buses with immense power of spiderman
or hanging out with friends till 2 at night because if they have keys of their rooms they can come anytime they want to provided they don't disturb their landlords.
or Can easily go to home (if their home is only 50-200KM) as they don't need train reservation too coz latak ke chale jaane mein bhi NO PROBLEMO!
or if some nerd gay tries to be overfrienldy with them then they can show their manpower (not woman power)

Yes there are load n loads of problem poor guys face inlcuding me living in Delhi.
