by Alexander Mathew on Mar 04, 2008 01:04 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

it is absolutly a nonsense to celebrate a day as international women's day. they are eual before the law, equal before the society etc. etc. everywhare they enjoy previleges and men are ready to give these to women. then why a day is needed.

Ever wonder why so many cases of dowry are reported? Almost all of them are false. They are filed to blackmail. The unscrupulous wives filing false dowry cases use lie-and-cry policy to defame her husband and his family. The accused elerly, sisters and children bear the harassment from the legal system and finally to save his parents from going to jail in a false case, the husband agrees to pay the demanded money to his so-called wife.

98 out of 100 dowry Cases (498A) are false--says a study by Center for Social Research (CSR, an institution for women) Study

Statistics reveal that only two per cent of the cases of harassment filed by women are genuine.

This law is not being changed because vote politics is in play.
