Long term steps like total ban of alcohol throughput india is better. It will stop these kinda incidents. Also it will stop politicians from bribing voters with liqour during elections. It will also slow the degeneration of youth.

Alcohol and ciggs/tobbacco are one of the highest revenue generator in india and in all parts of world. There is not a single nation who has ban either of these

But if revenue is generated from something bad, then that revenue is not worth it.

govt can save a lot of money if it bans alcohol, in terms of public health expenditure. Govt uses this same revnue which it gets from alcohol to corrupt voters during elections.
And in general health of many indians who are addicted to alcohol and whose families are suffering due to this, will improve.

just because it hasnt been banned you are saying that it shouldnt be banned?? what kind of logic is that?? someone has to make a start. And i hope india makes it. And looks like you are more concerned about the revenue of the govt ( most of which goes to politicians pockets) than general welfare of people.

Banning alcohol doesnt make any sense. If someone wants to have alcohol he can anyways have it whether its banned or not. In most of the restro-bars alcohol is available even on dry days, isnt it ? By banning alcohol Govt will only lose the revenue and nothing else will change
