Karnataka State Language Policy-HC Judgment
by Eknaath Nagarkar on Jul 08, 2008 09:14 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

It should be the endeavour of every parent to not only give his child the best education but also see to it that he is able to eke out a living in any corner of the GLOBAL VILLAGE. Looked at from viewpoint the State Govt. Policy appears flawed. The Govt had earlier withdrawn recognition of more than 3000 schools on the grounds subjects were being taught in English Medium and mind you these were not Aided Schools. Thankfully the High Court has declared the State Government decision Invalid.

It's indeed unfortunate that leaders of late have started taking flippant decisions without weighing pros & cons and without a healthy decision preceding it. Have they taken into account the inconvenience experienced by people of other communities and those with transferable jobs?

I, for one, fervently hope, the State Govt. moves the Supreme Court in this regards and Supreme Government too goes categorically against them such that no other State Govt shall ever dare take such a decision playing into the hands of petty and parochial minded so called leaders.

If the Americans are looking for equivalents Madoff scandal all they need to do is read RK Narain’s novel – THE FINANCIAL WIZARD.

The kind of influence Late BM Gopal Rao must have been wielding during his day could only be guessed from the fact his victims included HH Shri Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar (the Maharajah of Mysore) and Nobel laureate late Sir CV Raman. When asked by a scribe how he too fell for it Sir CV Raman quipped, “He is the one who really deserves the Nobel Prize!”

His office was located in Asiatic Building -presently occupied by Janatha Bazaar on Kempegowda Road, Bangalore- undoubtedly occupies the pristine position as father of all chain businesses in India. His victims included RK Narain wrote the novel FINANCIAL WIZARD on the life of BM Gopala Rao who is the pioneer and rightly deserves to be called the father of ‘chain businesses’.
