Ragging

The term ragging has been misinterpreted and misused in the course of time. Taken in positive spirit and done in a healthy way, ragging or "informal introduction" can go a long way in shaping a fresher's outlook. This is the unofficial platform which provides an opportunity to a fresher to interact with the seniors, to know the culture, to know about do's and don'ts, and also to find his/her role model in some of the seniors. The rigirous and probably not-so-good interaction during the ragging time bring a person closer to the so called ragger; and this can help the ragged in getting all kind of guidance, support and confidence later. Also this improves the bonding among the freshers as they also get to know each other well, see everyone treated almost in a similar fashion. Any kind of indifferences in their attitude, feeling of coming from different backgrounds, different financial conditions and different cultures also go away when all of them interact informally, and this informal discussion brings in them a sense of being from one family, where they are going to stay for next few years.
Overall, if ragging doesn't cross a limit, where the ragged starts feeling uncomfortable and hurt, it is okay. So let's have that healthy informal interaction in order to improve ourselves and make us better practical persons.
