I am having similar experience to share. I am having 2 postpaid connections with vadafone. Jan 2008 they activated caller tune without my knowledge, after enquiring about the matter they said I have requested for the same and Rs 30/month will be charged even if caller tune activated for 1 day.then asked them to deactivate it that day itself. From then onwards I spoke to them more then 10 times and sent many SMS for deactivation on their advice. Now it’s June the caller tune not deactivated, they are charging me Rs 30/month from Jan. Without any request they will tell us they activated caller tune upon our request but after personally speaking to them for 10 times will not help to deactivate the caller tune. This a type of day robbery and govt just busy with collecting the taxes and politicians and officals filling there pockets. Is any body there to protect us?

If it is not impossible for you to change your mobile number, just send them a letter to the 'street dog' Vodafone customer care informing that you are going to discontinue the connection if they continue doing like this. Also give copy of your sms and other references to consumer court. Vodafone is like a dog which they show in ads but a street dog as far as my experience goes and I have discontinued their line and switched over to Reliance with excellent connectivity and service.
