my experiences-2

i was now a postgrad dental student in pondicherry. once a white man happened to come to our OPD for treatment. the scene was hilarious. our interns fought tooth and nail to treat this firangi..taking utmost care and giving so much love which wud have put his mother to shame..it was disgusting to see this servile behaviour from indians..these same drs used to boss over the poor indian who used to come to the college for some treatment..i felt very humiliated at the way we indians behaved...what is it that makes u crawl when we see a firang?it was ridiculous to see guys who always used to speak in tamil suddenly start speaking loudly in english so that they can catch the attention of gora sahib!!i know of a dental student who spent just 1 year in UK and now talks with such an accent that even the Queen would be impressed!!why do we act so silly? yet we never tire( as i see in this blog) to keep on harping as to how great we were..we indians love to dwell in the past..talk about being blind to reality..we indians fit the bill!!
the last incident again saw me once examining a firang patient at pondy..i then asked him to please wait his turn..and he sits beside m..on a chair reserved for the staff..i politely asked him to please take a seat in the area reserved for the patients..u shud have seen his face..he was appallled...me????sit with locals?? are u nuts?? fortunately i was quite firm and said that all patients were the same and he must wait his turn in the designated area..
