In my opinion, a friend can never be a spouse.It just does not work that way. Reason - A good friend does everything you want him / her to do ( without hinting ); and does not expect anything in return.A spouse definitely has expectations. I am married, and I do have good friends. I am not trying to be partial here. It is just that a great friend can be stood up any number of times.And he will still be your friend. You may avoid any number of calls of his, but you still remain a friend when you need him.A spouse, well it is a different issue. You have to create time and space for her.You have to take care of the relationship.You cannot avoid certain things like accompanying her to her friends / family parties. You have to give in to her whims and fancies. Well, it is just that the frequency is different. A friend is a friend. A spouse is a spouse. We should try and not mingle these two.
