All Media Hype...
by Vaseem Ashraf on Sep 12, 2007 12:19 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Everything is over-rated.

Believe in yourself.

Do not follow rat race after going through the media reports about the IIMs.

Persons obtaining Diploma from IIMs are NOT super humans.

Its basically the right amount of preparation of CAT at the right time for getting into these institutes. It does not mean all the other careers are inferior or not lucrative. It all depends on the people what they want to pursue in life.

So, avoid following what others say. Listen to your own self.

I feel that IIM or any Top B Schools in our penninsula Do Not teach you how you should cook your own food,it just takes you through certain issues,that elevates your mental thought platforms.

Start believing Yourself ,and you may never look back.

U A E = R

U = Understand Always

A = Analyze always

E = Evaluate Always

R = Check Relevance and Do a Gap Analysis Always.

You have done a good analysis of this ranking business.The screening process of IIM's & IIT is more responsible for what comes from these institutes.These students will do well even if they have to study antwhere else as well. The most damaging outcome of overemphasis on bookish knowledge & over dependence on CAT has been reflected in a frank acknowledgment by none other than the head of IIT's Mr Rao who concceded that students lead a retired life in institutes after going through a tough selection process.
