Not great at all. No choice of cuisine. Uttarakhand, Arunachal, Himachal - any one of these would be better than Coorg any day.

you are right. eating is not all but a selection is always welcome. Plus the scenes are not great for those of us who have seen many other hilly areas of the country. sorry to have hurt you as that was not my intention. Suiggest you visit other hill stations and you will understand.

Coorg is not a place who come in search of chinese or punjabi food. Try local cuisine pandi curry (pork), kadumbuttu (rice dumplings), nool puttu (rice noodles) & votti (rice rotti). The best way to enjoy coorg is to be a guest in a coffee estate or homestay. Do not expect that you land in Madikeri & find lots of hotels, restaurants & travel agencies to entertain you.

I seem to have touched a very sensitive gastronomic chord of respondents. I thought the idea is to post your impressions not to debate. I wish there will be some coffee estate to take me in as a guest when (and if) I visit Coorg again.

you go to a hill station to enjoy the nature and the different food that you normally don't get where you live in the city.
Whats the fun in expecting the same kinda cuisines what you get in a city???
In coorg you get food from south india like idli, dosa to north indian food like roti, sabjis, dals etc. For non-veg also you get chicken, and red meat food. I dunno what cuisine u were looking for??
FYI I have seen many other hill stations as well including Coorg like ooty, Munnar, Thekkady, Kodaikanal, Nainital, Mahabaleshwar, Darjeeling, Shimla, Kullu, Manali etc.
