Hi, I was in a very good designation in my earlier company. Now I accepted this offer from another company A and have joined them just 2 weeks back. Now I have an offer from a MNC CMM level 5 co. to join them. It is exactly what I want and I really want to join them. Should I tell them that I have already joined company A a fortnight ago or shall I hide this fact and straightaway join there with my previous employers releiving letters. I know terminating my employment at company A would be problematic but I can manage that. Only thing is that I would like to join the company with my honest details, but my friends say that if you tell them abt Co. A, it will create wrong impression and you might loose the job. What should I do?

Hi Abhishek.. I think you should tell the Company A some problem at your native place so that you can keep this job in hand for at least 15 days and join the Comapny B straighforward.Dont try to be HarishChandra as it will always go against you. If you find the things are not upto your expectations with Company B you can go back to Company A. You will have backup with you. This will be a witty ploy and win win situation for you. Let me known what u did at - shekharshashi2000@rediffmail.com

Guys, I understand that all of you have been trying to give him the best piece of advice. But somehow I feel it might not be a good idea to join company B without telling A. It's certainly not to do with morality etc. but it might create a legal problem for him and he might end up loosing both the jobs.
This is because company B is going to ask him to sign a document saying that he won't work for another company while working for B. In case they get to know about the ploy, they can ask him to leave.
Second issue would be conflict of interest, if there is any. Company A might might file a legal notice against company B for accessing it's confidential information using unlawful means (that's him), in that case company B would get into trouble. he would certainly loose his job. And this would have adverse affect on his career.
I strongly feel that company B won't let him join without a releaving letter from company A to avoid these kind of troubles.

Don't hide anything. Go and tell company B that you have joined company A, but you always wanted to join B. It would work out well. But be ready with satishfying answers for the uncomfortable questions. Questions like "what if company C gives you an offer, would you quit B?", "why did you join A, when you always wanted B?" etc will be asked. May be it's a personal matter, but I believe one shouldn't join a company just because it's a MNC or it's CMM level five. Go by what you get out of this deal.

You should straight away join the new company, as its a matter of 2-3 weeks only.
Its an era where you need to be practical.
Do tell me what decision you take.(deepakbatra424@rediffmail.com)
