underprivilged .....destiny
by sheila das on Jun 05, 2007 07:36 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Recently when i was enquiring about chances for getting a seat for one of my friend's children the guide told tme this:

," since this child had so little resources and still has got a rank of 24,000 the chances tha the will do well is very high. "

Apparently her friend's child had got a rank of 12,000. And she considered this 1st boy's ability to study and be motivated much higher than her friend's son. The first child 's father was a manual labourer in a factory , the mother uneducated, and living condidiotns were much below average.

Wheras the 2nd child's parents were both engineers, lived with all the luxury . He was given special entrance coaching etc.

Consideration has to be given to such underpriviiged children. Though this does not convey anything about SC/ ST reservation, it ia a fact that SC/ST continues to be a part of the underprivileged.

But i 'll tell u this also.It was only when i went to learn astrology did i understand , reservation or no reservation a person who is destined to become a doctor becomes a doc, and that an engineer , an engineer, an architect, an architect.

But we ahve to argue about something. So lets all argue.

Sheila
