I AM FOR RESERVATION
by JaiveerHanuman on Jun 05, 2007 01:21 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

I belong to a so called scheduled caste, a caste that is hated and used as an abuse in India. Or i must say in today's India and will remain like this until parents stop their kids educating about caste system. My parents did not disclose this to me until I was 7 yrs old. Then, very soon I realised that I am hated in the society.I still remember the hate in the eyes of my teacher when I was 8 and too naive to realise why am I treated like this. And i don't come from a countryside in India. I come from Delhi.
I thank to Govt. of India that I could make myself stand on my feet.
Believe me or not, it is a struggle to be born as a Schedule Caste and face discrimination and hatred from your very close friends, colleagues , neighbours and parents of your friends, when they come to know about your caste. And it is a myth among General Students that SC's are not intelligent, not good at English or presentation skills. When I was 21, I could prove many of them wrong during my masters in marketing management. I made use of reservation and therefore I am thankful to the Govt. of India and I AM PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN (Without this privilege maybe not).

CONGRATULAITONS!I ABREE THAT YOU WERE A CLASSIC EXAMPLE OF B.R.AMBEDKAR'S VISION BEING FULFILLED. WITHOUT RESERVATIONS IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN IMPOSSIBLE BUT ANSWER ME THIS. DO YOUR CHILDREN & THEIR CHILDREN NEED THE CRUTCH OF RESERVATIONS? SHOULD A POOR NON-DALIT BE LEFT TO PAY FOR THE SO CALLED SINS OF HIS FORE FATHERS?

But there had been a classic example of a lorry driver's son topping IAS exam. General Category and yes poor too. Did he suffer? Did he not get through? I did not get your point how the poor non-dalit is suffering. The poor non-dalit who has opted to sell a Chai is doing that. And yes, off course taking care that his kids are not playing with dalits. And, therefore I want my kids to make use of reservation. So that they could tell the chaiwala that they are SC "ek cup chai milegi bhaiya?" :-)

Did you get it Mr. Vaid? My children and the grand children would not need reservation on the day, when one will not enquire about other's cast. When there will be no Matrimonial advts. in the newspapers based on Caste. When you will be ready to marry off your son, daughter or sister without asking the caste of a person or ready to marry them off HAPPILY :-) to a Bhan*gi or a Ch*amar (or is it still an abuse in your dictionary?). That day my friend, my children and grandchildren would not need reservation.

Dear JaiveerHanuman ,
do u think u are not fit to live in this society that u want reservation for yr children also. Or u think u will not be able to support or encourage yr kids to make there own destiny and thats why u are asking reservation for them.

I agree u didn't have guts to face society but atleast make sure yr kids have that guts so that they can stand on there feet and say that i have made myself without any help.
As i can say apart from the interruption government have given me (in the name of reservation) i am still able to become successful. And make sure my kids would not be begging as you are

Dear noname,
Yes, you are absolutely right. A society with an illness like caste-discrimination is not fit to live in. You can't imagine 1% of it because you were never born in this community.
And, for your information, we do not get things easily, we have to compete too. That you can't understand at all since you were not born as SC. Stand in my shoes and you will realise. Oh sorry, i forgot i am SC, you can't stand close to me. I offer you to stand on a platform instead because you are the higher class. :)
Do you know that India is SICK because of caste discrimination? that's the view of Europeans, they say that it is worst than Apartheid system in Africa.
I have a suggestion, indians should omit their second names. Start doing this with your kids. I have guts to do it. Do you have it? The result : all will be same without any caste and class. CAN YOU IT MR. NONAME?

sure now i understand how dumb headed u r that u need some reservation in this society just like some physically challenged without which u cannot survive. Sure u lack the necessary skills n need some crutches. U need real balls to face todays competition which all these reserved class do not have. If u have it in u face the world in open competition n prove ur self. Whoever has the edge will survive. It is law of the nature. Survival of the fittest. Do not forget that nature has no reservations. I do not hate the reserved class for their caste, but definitely for the undue advantage given to them ,which they did not earned, but was thrown to them.

For your info, Mr. Raman, I am heading a branch of an MNC. Now you could say that an MNC probably has a reservation policy? :-) Then I would say, you are sick minded incompetent person.
Anyways, no offences please, I am happy what and where I am today and I don't need to prove it to you if I am competitive or not. You must had a hard childhood, I guess that your parents forgot to teach you, how to behave in a society and in a public forum. :-)
Survival of the fittest. Yes, you are right..why don't you compete in the general category and succeed if you are fit (I guess you are mentally not .. LOL)
I could not do anything except to laugh after reading your message LOL...
