In hypertension, since there are lots of contraindications plus body stiffness, you have to start with simple pawan muktasana series -- it will show great results. Continue with this for a few weeks; start pranayamas like nadi shodhana, and bhramari. For how-to do this, I suggest the book Asana Pranayama Mudra Bandha (Bihar School of Yoga, by Swami Satyananda Saraswati). Rs 200. And/Or Yoga for hypertension (also same publisher, same author) is the best book since it gives you a week-by-week schedule, how-to-do instructions, and food changes needed for hypertension. It also discusses habits -- like thought patterns, eating, sleeping etc. So, it is the best book and guide. Rs 90.
