I agree that a huge number of job seekers fake their CVs to get jobs. But in some cases even the genuine job seekers have to fake their work experience because of these companies. A friend of mine who had been working for over 3 years had to take a break of about 7 - 8 months from work due to some problems with his father's health. He is the only son and his mother had already passed away. He had to take a break in order to take care of his father. Although his father passed away due to the illness, he recovered from the shock and started searching for job again which was after a good gap of 10 months. Although he was academically qualified and had experience of over 3 years, many of these well known companies who hue and cry about job seekers faking CVs told him on his face that he had not been working for the last 10 months and that is the reason they are reluctant to hire him. He took all the medial receipts, papers, and even his dad's death certificate to justify that he is speaking the truth. Not even a single company was willing to offer him a position. By the time all this happened, 1 year had passed by, eventually he got frustrated and he faked his CV for that 1 year claiming to be working in a small start-up. With his faked CV in a span of about a month and half, he had 2 offers from other well known companies itself. Companies should just stop crying about the fake CVs as one way or the other they are responsible for forcing job seeker's to fake their CVs.
