Is it necesaary to start your journey from your place of work only to claim your LTA? Ex: Suppose you work in Mumbai and your home town is bangalore and you have traveled with your parents from bangalore to kolkata. Can you claim the travel from Bangalore to kolkatta for your LTA?

not possible, the starting point of your journey has to be your work place
