BOTH HUSBAND AND WIFE ARE AVAILING HRA, ONE IN CENTRAL SERVICE AND SPOUSE IN STATE SERVICE AND BOTH ARE POSTED IN THE SAME STATION. IS THERE ANY NEW RULE SAYING ONLY ONE CAN AUTHORISE FOR HRA?

So far my knowledge is concerned, there's no new rule for HRA when both the serving employee are staying at the station but belongs to different governments. In Assam what is surprising that only one HRA is being paid to either of them irrespective of their governments. Central Govt. rules are clear that both will be provided HRA untill Govt. Accomodation is provided either of them. But state govt. of Assam started thinking otherwise and attached central employee in it. That is ridiculas. HRA is a compensation in lieu of accomodation not provided by Govt.The state govt is like to follow court case for that.
