Though degrees give a keen edge of knowledge, the practical side makes you brighter and you can beat anybody if you stick to professionalism and an acumen to learn, learn and learn everyday of your life. I happen to be an M.A., in English and am now an SQL Server-administrator also handling HR/ logistics and FINANCE of an MNC. I can run a loom or metal sponge weaver, run a moulding m/c,repair my car/bike, replace a blown fuse and make electrical connections. I can write programs in SQL/FOXPRO/VB etc..Wide reading and a stickler for details can make your professional life better for you and your company. Approach anyhting with an analytical mind, never waver in your decisions, be not afraid to make a presentation when called upon and u can shine in ANY environment. There is nothing like Knowledge based on on-hands experience to beat your competition. But the 'mantra' is having FAITH in yourself and be ready to experiment by exploring the pros and cons first and then making a decision, with profit for the Organization as Criteria No:1. Am just 50 years YOUNG, and my thirst for learning has not diminished even a bit amid all the travails life can put on you! All the Best -Barnabas
