Degrees or Work experience?
by ramesh on Oct 31, 2006 12:33 PM   Permalink

It is foolish to pick & choose one over the other. By citing Narayan Murthy & Dhirubai Ambani; where one is a master degree holder and other is not formally educated we are trying to confuse ovurselves.
It is extremely difficult to come across many Dhirubhais. They will be in a position to streamline the resources of Qualified personnel. To an great extent they require proper, whole hearted assistance.
Similarly, all educted persons cannot become good entrepreneurs. While every organization require qualified personnel, every expert cannot be a good businessman.
It reminds me of one instance when I asked a successful businessman what would be his ambition after achieving so much?? Answer was" I know the difficulties a businessma faces as an illiterate: But now I want my next generation to do business as educated persons.
Concluding, I would say that there could be stray instances of unread persons being a successful entrepreneurs. It is necessry to have a proper degree to back up your entrepreneurial instincts.
