Where one should put his hard money???

There are three options :
1. Short Period : Put it in FD in banks like ABN which gives 8% for almost 1 year...
2. Medium Period : Put it in NSC for 6years..
3. Long Period : Put it in PPF..
There should be balance in between 3 of them...
